Biography Andre Oppel
André Oppel is a strategy consultant, entrepreneur and coach.
After his Master studies in Business and Engineering in Europe, USA and Japan he joined Accenture and later moved on to the boutique consultancy Stratley, where he worked with top executive in the chemical and oil industry at clients like BASF, Cognis, Syngenta, Bayer, Clariant, Shell and Lanxess. During his consulting years he enjoyed working in many client-facing roles across the globe responsible for project management, delivery and leading cross-functional international teams. He advised on business strategy, organizational restructuring, change management, business process optimization, turnarounds, M&A activities, and post-merger integrations. Based on his broad experience he became a business transformation specialist, with vast expertise in managing complex operations.
From consulting Andre went onto the client side and joined a family owned group of companies to turn around their core business and expand the business model into digital markets. As a managing director he was involved in running all aspects of diverse operations, and created bespoke commercial solutions. He helped to built a multi-million consumer goods e-commerce business and to established a private brand in omnichannel retail. By restructuring extensively and identifying new opportunities the group achieved a doubling of revenues within 5 years.
After that he was called back into consulting for the chemical and logistics industry where he optimized operational performance, managed cost reductions, evaluated investment opportunities, lead digitization efforts, and provided interim management.
During this time Andre got approached by a large family owned company holding in the Middle East with 25 autonomous companies and a multi-billion turnover to help them with the build up of their digital business.
He advised the board members on business development in digital markets, platform economics and corresponding business models. Turning concepts into results he founded two corporate start-ups and built the organizational capabilities for the group to expand into digital markets. Alongside he managed diverse business development initiatives, won new clients and accompanied organizational transformations in the portfolio companies.
André brings 20 year track record in driving change and developing both, commercial performance and highly effective teams.
He has lead vision and strategy to achieve growth and operational excellence in global organizations as well as in small to medium sized enterprises.
His ability to think strategically and plan `outside of the box` has benefited many companies and people.
To transfer and teach his expertise André has recently become a certified leadership and executive coach as well as an organizational development coach.
He strongly believes by valuing the contributions made by individuals and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit will be a key determinant to a organizations success.
Being fluent in English and German, André resides in Dubai where he helps start-ups and established companies to develop new business
